Well, well, well, looks like someone finally decided to invest in a little thing called “rock”. Bedrock Materials, the hot new startup that’s taking the construction world by storm, has just secured a whopping $9 million in seed funding. And they’re not stopping there – they’re also setting up a fancy new R&D headquarters in the windy city of Chicago.
Um … kay, thanks? I mean, let’s be real: what’s more exciting than digging up dirt and smashing rocks all day? Oh, I know, doing it in a sleek office building with a view of the Bean. That deserves a press release masking as a blog post on CleanTechnica. How innovative.
Seriously, who would have thought sodium-ion batteries were so sexy? “Bedrock Materials specialises in producing essential materials for low-cost, eco-friendly sodium-ion batteries. These batteries are seen as a next-generation alternative to lithium-ion versions, utilising affordable, widely available materials.”
If only roasting company names generated electricity – we could power the world off of “Rock solid investment”, “breaking ground in the construction industry”, and “building a solid foundation” jokes.
But in all seriousness, congrats to Bedrock Materials for securing the funding and establishing their research and development headquarters. Who knows, maybe they’ll discover the secret to turning rocks into gold. Or at least into some trendy, expensive home decor.
