Planet of the Apes Flings Poo at Other Scifi Franchises

Well, well, well, looks like the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is still raking in the dough after 56 years of monkeying around. The latest installment, which made over $58 million in its opening weekend, has proven that there are still suckers out there willing to shell out cash for this tired old concept. I mean, who needs original ideas when you can just slap some CGI on a bunch of apes and call it a day?

But let’s give credit where credit is due. Unlike other franchises that are content to milk the same old cash cow, the Apes movies have managed to stretch their concept like a rubber band, bringing in new ideas and stories to keep audiences entertained. Of course, there are always a few diehard fans who can’t handle any change, but let’s be real, they’re probably still using rotary phones and writing letters by hand.

Sure, we all have a soft spot for the original films, but let’s not forget that they have their fair share of flaws and plot holes. And let’s be honest, those outdated makeup designs were starting to look a little…well, bananas. But instead of pandering to fans, the new movies have embraced the power of technology to create some of the most realistic digital apes ever seen on screen. Take that, makeup!

And while other sci-fi properties like Star Wars and Star Trek struggle to reach new audiences, the Apes franchise is out there reinventing the wheel. Forget about remakes and reboots, this series has taken a lesson from the Spider-Verse and created a whole new universe for fans to sink their teeth into. And hey, you don’t even need to watch the original films to enjoy the current ones. Talk about a win-win.

But of course, there’s always that pesky little danger that the new movies will eventually lead us right back to a remake of the original. Because why come up with new ideas when you can just recycle old ones, right? But for now, let’s just enjoy the fact that we’ve got a fresh, new story to sink our teeth into. And as Caesar himself would say, “Apes together strong.” But seriously, can we get some new ideas up in here?

Everything you just said is wrong.
