We Roast the Future

Stranger Things Television

Respectna the Vecna or He’ll Break Your Neckna

Oh, great. Just what we needed in season 5 of Stranger Things – another “surprise” meeting between a human-looking Vecna and Holly Wheeler. Nothing like bringing back an old villain to spice things up for the final season.

Remember – pre-Vecna and other stuff – when you could get away with calling Stranger Things a scifi show? Pepperidge Farms remembers. I hope this is the final season. At this point, who needs new storylines or character development when you can just rehash the same plot points from previous seasons? It’s not like fans have been waiting years for this conclusion or anything.

And let me guess, Vecna has some grand plan to bridge realities again but now he wants to target poor little Holly as his next victim because…reasons? Oh wait, it’s probably all part of his mastermind grudge against Eleven and humanity that was so well-developed over eight years (eye roll).

But hey, at least Karen Wheeler will finally get her time in the spotlight by being pushed into a similar position as Joyce Byers in season 1. Because apparently one distraught mother wasn’t enough drama for Hawkins – better add another one!

Let me also take a moment to appreciate how these set photos are supposed hinting at tragedy befalling Hawkins once again. Wow Netflix writers really know how to shake things up with their groundbreaking ideas! Who could’ve guessed that something bad would happen on yet ANOTHER show about supernatural occurrences?

Honestly though, why waste our time with speculations about Henry/Vecna possibly regaining his human form when clearly he’ll just use telepathy instead? Talk about predictable storytelling choices…

Seriously though folks if you’re looking for fresh content and unpredictable twists then look elsewhere because Stranger Things seems determined AFK (away from keyboard) while they copy paste past events onto current ones hoping no one notices.

But hey, at least it’s not like the show is ending or anything. Oh wait…never mind. But don’t worry, we’ll just end with a bang by bringing back old villains and rehashing plot points from previous seasons instead of giving our beloved characters proper endings (cough cough Hopper).

So buckle up folks because season 5 is sure to be full of recycled material and disappointment! Can’t wait for another round of “will they find *insert missing person here* before it’s too late?” Yawn.

In all seriousness though, let’s hope that these set photos are actually misleading us and there will be some actual original content in Stranger Things’ final season. Because if this is what passes as exciting news then maybe Hawkins needs more than just Eleven to save them – perhaps a good dose of creativity wouldn’t hurt either.

Everything you just said is wrong.
