One thing you should know: Lignin Industries is claiming to save the world with their “innovative” green tech Swedish bioplastic. But, hold on folks. We’ve been here before.
Companies often use buzzwords like “sustainable” and “circular” to make their products sound eco-friendly, while conveniently leaving out the cost and environmental impact of their production processes.
How does it work? “The bio-based material makes use of lignin, the chief constituent of wood that is typically discarded and burned in paper and pulp mills. A method developed by the eponymous Lignin Industries allows this unwanted lignin powder to be transformed into a biobased material called Renol.”
Of course we want clean tech. But are they jumping onto the sustainability bandwagon for positive PR and profit or do they genuinely care about the environment? ‘Cutting down trees to turn them into plastic’ doesn’t sound sustainable solution, no matter how many fancy terms they use.
And let’s not forget about the cost – because nothing screams mass adoption like expensive bioplastics. These companies are more concerned with making a profit than making a real difference.
So, dear readers, lets’ hope. Swedish bioplastic sounds like the perfect green technology But also take anything coming from these so-called eco-friendly companies with a grain of salt. They may talk the talk, but actions speak louder. Don’t be fooled by their fancy terminology and promises of saving the planet – true sustainability goes beyond buzzwords and requires genuine care and effort. Let’s not fall for their greenwashing tactics.
