Jurassic Park: Blockbuster Scifi, Science Fail

One thing you should know is that Jurassic Park may have been a blockbuster scifi movie, it was a science fail as a film. Yes, our dear old Michael Chricton / Steven Spielberg collab  was a major disappointment for anyone who cares about scientific accuracy. Sure, it was cool to see dinosaurs come to life on the big screen, but let’s not forget that these creatures were depicted as nothing more than exaggerated monsters.

Hollywood has a long history of sacrificing accuracy for the sake of entertainment. Don’t even get me started on the fact that the original film was released in 1993, yet it’s still revered as a masterpiece despite its outdated and inaccurate depictions of dinosaurs.

The thing that gets me about this is that we, as an audience, deserve better. We should demand more from our filmmakers – like scientific accuracy and respect for these once majestic creatures. Good enough isn’t good enough when it comes to such an iconic film. We shouldn’t settle for Hollywood’s lazy use of artistic license and outdated theories.

So when it comes to Jurassic Park and other ‘science vs scifi’ fails – please quit dumbing things down in order to please the masses. We deserve better science and technology focus in our films. Let’s demand more from Hollywood and hold them accountable for perpetuating false ideas and ignoring scientific evidence. It’s time to put an end to this monstrous depiction of dinosaurs and give them the respect they deserve.

Everything you just said is wrong.
