Megalopolis: Maybe Hollywood is Right

So, apparently there’s this dude named Francis Ford Coppola (yeah, I had to Google him too) and he’s all butt-hurt because his new sci-fi movie is getting bad reviews. Like, seriously dude? Chill out.

In an interview, Coppola whines about how Hollywood is just a bunch of rule-followers who can’t handle his “genius” vision for this movie called “Megalopolis.” Yeah, because clearly, it’s not because the movie sucks or anything.

He goes on to say that he’s not interested in making movies that follow the standard formula. Well, congrats on being a rebel, Coppola. But maybe, just maybe, people don’t like your movie because it’s actually not good?

But no, he’s determined to make this movie, even if it means self-financing it. Oh, the struggles of being a rich and famous movie director. I’m sure we can all relate. Let’s not forget that this is Coppola – the same guy who directed “The Godfather.” You know, that little indie film that no one has ever heard of. So, he’s not exactly a stranger to success. Or playing by the rules. He’s fine with Hollywood when Hollywood is fine with him.

Maybe he should just accept that this movie isn’t his best work and move on. In the end, I think it’s safe to say that the real reason Hollywood isn’t interested in “Megalopolis” is because it’s just not that good. Sorry, not sorry.

Everything you just said is wrong.
