Oh, George R.R. Martin, You Scifi Tease

Well folks, it looks like we’re in for another wild ride with George R.R. Martin. But this time, instead of killing off all our favorite characters in a medieval fantasy world, he’s taking us to…a sci-fi one? *eye roll* Because clearly what we need from him right now is more unfinished projects.

But don’t worry, there’s very little known about this mysterious film except for an image of Martin sitting in front of some “sci-fi machinery”. Ooh la la! We’re on the edge of our seats already. *sarcasm*

And if that wasn’t enough to get you excited (spoiler alert: it probably isn’t), anonymous sources have revealed that this will be the first installment in an anthology series. Because why focus on completing one thing when you can start multiple projects at once? Take notes from George R.R. Martin everyone.

The film boasts an impressive team behind it including writer Michael Cassutt who worked on The Twilight Zone and producers Steve Graham and Elias Gallegos – wait, sorry I meant Mark Steinig too – seriously how many people does it take to make a 5-minute short film? *eye roll*

Oh and did we mention Lina Esco will star alongside Charles Martin Smith and Matt Frewer? No? Well neither did anyone else because no one knows anything about this movie! *eyeroll*

But fear not fans, when asked for comment on The Summer Machine, Martin used his signature wit to give us absolutely nothing by saying “Summer is coming”. Wow George, way to really blow our minds with that clever play on words. *sarcasm*

In true GRRM fashion though, he couldn’t resist throwing shade at TV show adaptations while promoting yet another adaptation himself. Because apparently, when you’re as successful as Martin, the only thing that matters is complaining about adaptations of your work. *eye roll*

So there you have it folks, The Summer Machine – a sci-fi short film brought to you by the man who can’t even finish writing his own books. But hey, at least we’ll always have Game of Thrones…wait never mind. *sigh*

Everything you just said is wrong.
